Founded on December 27th, 2008, The Arctic Fundra began when a group of friends decided to brave the elements of a harsh Pennsylvania winter, push their bodies to the limits, and raise money for charity.
Since that pivotal day, this annual golf tournament has grown to include players from numerous states and varied backgrounds. Participants are as unpredictable as the weather. There are accomplished amateurs, and daring novices. College students, and retired actors. One loyal participant, Gary Brown, might not even be human.

The rules of The Arctic Fundra are simple.
1. The Fundra is a 27-hole stroke play event. The first 9 holes are played in better-ball format, the second 9 holes are played as a scramble, and the closing 9 holes are played as a modified alternate shot.
2. Two-man teams are randomly drawn from a hat on the first tee.
3. All players must walk. The use of any cart will result in a disqualification.
4. Gary Brown is in really good shape for his age.
5. Players cannot eat during the event, with the exception of coffee, water, and alcoholic beverages. A 1-stroke penalty will be assessed per bite / sip of any calorie containing food / drink.

After completing The Arctic Fundra, survivors traditionally gather for a buffet dinner. The vast majority of entry fee money is donated to charities including The American Cancer Society and The National Alzheimer's Association; while remaining funds are given to the Champions in the form of gift certificates. Which might mean cash.
If you think you have the stamina to walk 10 miles, in sub-freezing temperatures, over the course of 9 hours, without food, maybe with a stranger as a teammate, for charity, then please feel free to contact us. Especially if you're from Canada as we're trying to make this an international event.
